Something is happening in this old factory in Madrid and you will love it!

From the casticism of La Latina to the modernity of Malasaña through the pijerío of Salamanca or the charm of Chamberí. To each neighborhood of Madrid, its noun.

But there is a neighborhood to which we cannot apply only one word, a neighborhood whose nineteenth-century buildings house cozy restaurants (whose fans started going for decoration and stayed for food), shops with almost unique pieces (of those that always arouse the question “Where have you bought it?”), Terraces where you can connect the afternoon with the night, places where you can find the furniture that was missing from your living room…

Flowers, decoration, bicycles… nothing escapes to this neighborhood where the day begins with a healthy breakfast in El Huerto de Lucas (or a sweet one in La Duquesita), continues to buy fresh flowers in Margarita called my love and lasts until the wee hours of the night singing around the piano of Toni2.

Yes, of course, we are talking about the Las Salesas neighborhood , which is going to become, if it was not yet, your favorite in Madrid.

The reason? You will find it inside one of its most emblematic buildings, the old LaMarca carriage factory, dating from no less than 1902.

What is happening in LaMarca? Many things. And all very, very interesting. LaMarca, at number 10 on Fernando VI Street is a new project whose architects define it in four words: "For the active souls".

And there are precisely four spaces the new tenants of the old factory, which occupy the entire block offering everything necessary for lovers of healthy, active and sophisticated lifestyle.

“The idea stems from a mixture of circumstances and concerns. A couple of years ago my sister, Magally Capriles, started a concept related to fitness in Venezuela that was very successful. This made him realize how important it was to incorporate exercise into the routine, not only because of the physical, but also because of its effect on people's mood, ”says Mischka Capriles, one of LaMarca's co-founders.

Magally and Mischka's father had been in Spain for a couple of years with different projects and proposed to do something in the commercial premises of Fernando VI. When Magally arrived in Madrid, she fell in love with the LaMarca building. “A building like this could not have anything in its commercial area; deserved a complete concept. And there was still nothing in the city that offered something similar. ”He explains.

"Seeing that the world every day went and goes more towards the philosophy of wellness as a lifestyle, Madrid also seemed interested in joining the trend of healthy and active life, " says Mischka.

“We are not and do not want to be a freak fitness community. We are a group of people who want a space to work the body and the mind, a place that facilitates a good diet, that offers clothes for any occasion, where to get what is necessary for any trip or experience and where to learn about nutrition issues and healthy lifestyle, ” Mischka explains.

To participate in Tracy Anderson or Clandestin classes you must sign up in advance. Tracy Anderson has been open since May while the others will open throughout the summer.

Restless spirits of the capital: LaMarca is your place!
