Caraway (Cathedral Square, 15 tel. 920 22 66 00) €€
The first floor of a 19th-century building in front of the Cathedral houses this updated traditional kitchen house.
The beans of the ship and the t-bone steak of Ávila could not be missing - we are talking about a classic - but watch out for their restrained creative winks in dishes such as the supreme pulade stuffed with foie or the prawns in tempura with fried spinach. Piglets and lambs only on request.
Their homemade desserts are famous, such as cheesecake, cream of rice pudding or coffee bavarois.

El Almacén (Ctra. De Salamanca, 6 tel. 920 21 10 26) €€€
Isidora Beotas and Julio Delgado have been leading this classic for over 25 years .
By their fried eggs with carabinero you will know them . And for his homemade foie . And for his good hand (Isidora's) with the red meat of the earth. In between, surprises such as herring with mustard cream or a simple fresh garlic paste.
When the weather is good, the views of the walls of Avila from the terrace deserve a long table.

Few restaurants can boast such stunning views.
Apart from its famous mushroom menu in season, the menu tries to vary as much as possible with each season.
Such as conchontilla artichokes and Iberian bacon, crunchy vegetables and shrimp steaks or tuna sirloin with pistachios and pomegranate sauce.
They offer menus of dishes to the center to share (minimum two people).
The hotel, of the same name, is a good excuse to extend the plan and enjoy breakfast.
