The route of the lighthouses: by train along the Galician coast

Reading time 2 minutes

Of wild sea and apotheosic ocean, the coast of Galicia seduces with its steep cliffs and its wild nature. Watching its waves hitting the rocks is hypnotic. Watching those same waves while traveling by train, with its rattle, is also the best tranquilizer to which one can give away. And, be careful, because it really hooks. From Ferrol to Ribadeo, the Route of the Lighthouses works wonders.
This twelve- hour excursion is part of the dozen routes offered by the tourist trains of Galicia Renfe and makes strategic stops along the route to visit wonders such as Cape Ortegal, the Serra da Capelada, the Vixía Herbeira cliffs, Os Aguillóns, the sanctuary of San Andrés de Teixido, the lighthouse of Estaca de Bares or that of Illa Pancha.

A specialized guide will be present throughout the journey and there will be buses that will take the passengers from the stations to the points of interest.

Trips will begin on June 2 and will last on June 16 and 30; every Saturday in July and August; and on Saturdays September 1, 8, 15 and 22 and Sunday September 30.

The price of the tickets, which includes if you want to travel round trip by bus from A Coruña, amounts to 40 euros. Children between 3 and 13 years old can get theirs for 20 euros.
In addition, optionally, there will be scheduled visits in Ferrol with proposals such as the guided routes Ferrol del mar, Medieval Ferrol, Ferrol in Women, the Ferrol of the Enlightenment, the Modernist Ferrol or the theatrical visit of Ferrol along the English Way with a guide pilgrim.

The routes usually have between one hour and a half and two hours and a half and the price ranges between 10 and 20 euros.
